Can I Join?
The answer is yes! We are open to anyone joining us (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). We are a friendly bunch and know that it can be a little daunting for a new person but we'll try our best to ease this process as we are always keen to see new people getting involved!

The Band

What Do I Need To Know?
Absolutely no previous drumming experience is required at all. Most people who join us have never played a drum before in their life, all we ask is that you come full of energy and ready to Samba!

Great, So When? Where?
We practise every Monday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
We practise at Iona School in Sneinton. Please click HERE to download a PDF with a map of the school and how to get to our practise room.

What Do I Do When I Get There?
It's best if you could let us know that you are coming beforehand so we can be expecting you; simply send us an email to joining@nottinghamschoolofsamba.co.uk. Once there just ask someone for Mat or Ella (usually the person leading), failing that ask for Jonathan or Neil.

All equipment is provided, so there is no need to worry there. Just come with energy and a smile!

How Much Does It Cost?
Your first session is free! That way there is no financial offset if your unsure, whether this is for you, but we hope that you enjoy it and keep coming back!

After that it is 4 per session (3.50 concessions). Most people become members, as this is much cheaper, at only 70 (60 conessions) per year or 35 (30 concessions) for half a year - equivalent to 70p/ 60p (concessions) per hour!.

When you pay for your membership you get a free NSoS Hoodie and T-Shirt if you pay for a year. For half a year you get a T-Shirt and then a Hoodie on your second half year payment. - This unbelievably cheap compared to other bands in the UK! As far as we know we are the cheapest!

What's more is that we even discount off membership what you have already paid. E.g. IF you have paid for five weeks at 4 each then thats 20. Therefore, half a years membership (another 22 weeks) will only cost 15. 20 + 15 = 35!

Unfortunately, although you can practise with us, you can't do an event with us until you are a members as our insurance wont cover you!

What Else?
Well safety is always an obvious concern of all of us so we are pleased to say that both Mat and Ella have Enhanced CRB checks. We have nominated First Aiders for each pratcise/ performance as well as being EAD (Diffib) trained.

Lastly, parking is off street and free (always a bonus)!
